Overview
When setting up the backend database for GFI WebMonitor and connecting to a SQL database, the following error message is displayed:
Database is invalid
Environment
- GFI WebMonitor
- Any supported SQL server
Root Cause
A database already exists on the SQL Server with the same name you have specified that was not created by the GFI Product being used.
Resolution
Do not create a new database in SQL Server Management Studio and then use that database name in the backend database setting. If you have done this, delete the database you created in the SQL Management Studio. You must allow the GFI Product to create the database.
