Overview

This article provides the steps required to download updates for GFI WebMonitor's Security Engines manually.

Process

Follow the steps below to complete the manual update process:

1. Stop the GFI WebMonitor Services.

2. Navigate to the \GFI\WebMonitor\Updates directory.

3. Find the appropriate folder for each engine:

   • Version 10 and earlier:

     • AntiPh
     • BitDefender
     • Kaspersky
     • Patches
     • Theattrack
     • Vipre
     • WebGrade
     • WebGrade2

   • Version 11 later:

     • AntiPh
     • BitDefender
     • Kasperskyv8
     • Patches
     • Theattrack
     • WebGrade3

4. Make a new subfolder and move all the existing files from the update folders.

5. Restart the GFI WebMonitor Services.

Note: These engines cannot be manually updated through the WebMonitor console. The only way to force a manual update to these engines is to replace them per the steps above.

Confirmation

As soon as the services are restarted, GFI WebMonitor starts to download the new files in the appropriate update folder.
