Troubleshooting HTTPS Issues
- Make sure that your browser is sending HTTPS connections via your proxy. In Internet Explorer, these can be verified by going to Tools> Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings>Advanced.
- The IP of the proxy should be listed near Secure:.
- Make sure that the WebMonitor certificate is trusted. On the client machine:
- Go to Start> Run and type
mmc.exe
- In the MMC window, go to File>Add/Remove Snap-in.
- Click on the Add..., select Certificates and click on Add.
- Select Computer Account and click Next.
- Select Local computer and click Finish.
- In the MMC, browse to the Certificates>Local Computer>Trusted Root Certification Authorities node.
- Verify that the certificate is in the list.
- Go to Start> Run and type
- Ensure that your machines have the correct system date. Since certificates have a validity period, it is important that the machine has the correct date.
- If all of the above steps fail to solve the problem, try accessing the site directly and verify whether the browser shows an error or warning. It could be that the certificate presented by the site is not valid. Contact the site in such a case.
