Overview

This article provides the required steps to manually download and update ThreatTrack's definition files in GFI WebMonitor.

Process

1. Connect to the CDNUpdate server.

2. Download the threattrack_current_version.zip executable file.

      

3. Stop all the GFI WebMonitor services (GFI Proxy and GFI WebMonitor Core Service).

   1. Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously.

   2. Type services.msc and click OK.

             

   3. The Windows Service Manager page shows up. Locate the service in question (Windows Firewall, in the below example) and right-click on it. Select Stop to stop the service, as shown in the below image.

      
      

      Note: Remember to perform the above-described process for both GFI Proxy and GFI WebMonitor Core Service. 

4. Extract the content of the threattrack_current_version.zip to the below folders:

   • ...\Program Files\GFI\WebMonitor\ThreatTrack\FirstInstance

   • ...\Program Files\GFI\WebMonitor\ThreatTrack\SecondInstance

5. Restart the services stopped earlier.

   1. Open the Windows Service Manager page as explained earlier and locate the services in question (GFI Proxy and GFI WebMonitor Core Service).

   2. Right-click on the service and select Start.
