Overview
This article provides the steps required for you to check the category of a website, for both GFI WebMonitor 2013 and 2015 and above.
Environment
- GFI WebMonitor 2013
- GFI WebMonitor 2015 and later
Process
The GFI WebMonitor Web Filtering Edition and the GFI WebMonitor Unified Protection Edition categorize the URLs accessed by the users. To check the category assigned to a site that has been accessed by users:
GFI WebMonitor 2013
- Open the GFI WebMonitor Configuration tab.
- Click on the WebFilter Edition node to expand it.
- Expand Web Filtering Policies and select the WebGrade Database node.
- Within the Check URL Category section on the right, type the intended domain name and select Check URL Category button. The category for the site is displayed.
GFI WebMonitor 2015 and later
- Open the GFI WebMonitor Configuration tab.
- Click on the Manage drop-down.
- Select Tools.
- Use the Real-Time Lookup section to check the categories accordingly.
Note: Make sure that the WebGrade database has been successfully updated for the Check URL Category option to accurately reflect for the searched domain. For more information on URL classification, refer GFI WebMonitor WebGrade Database Category Information.
